Sono state annunciate le nomination per gli MTV EMAs 2020, show che andrà in onda l’8 novembre 2020. Lady Gaga è in testa con sette nomination nelle categorie più importanti tra cui Best Artist, Best Pop e Best Video. Seguono BTS e Justin Bieber con cinque nomination. Quest’anno ci sono delle novità, sono state aggiunte tre nuove categorie: Best Latin, Video for Good e Best Virtual Live.
Per il Best Italian Act concorrono Irama, Elettra Lamborghini, Diodato, Levante e Random. Anche quest’anno il quinto artista italiano è stato decretato dai fan: in una prima fase di votazione sulle stories del profilo Instagram di MTV Italia, fra Achille Lauro, Elodie, Ghali, Pinguini Tattici Nucleari e Random i preferiti sono stati quest’ultimo ed Elodie. Nella seconda fase i due vincitori sono stati testa a testa, ma alla fine Random è risultato il più votato.
